Astronomy Club of Ebene SSS(girls)
Rajiv Gandhi Science Centre`s NATIONAL SCIENCE CHALLENGE 2008

Being the Astronomy Club`s president it is my duty to give credit to the club for my achievements...

Well, my friends (the vice-president, Cindy Arokeum and a member, Tahisha Ramloll) and myself, Rawiyah Mulung have won the second runner up price of Rs10,000 at the NATIONAL SCIENCE CHALLENGE 2008 organized by the Rajiv Gandhi Science Centre!!! We were also awarded a shield and certificates!

Contrary to what you might be thinking our project was not an astronomy one but rather a biology one! It was entitled "USING WORM FARM EXPERIMENT FOR IMPROVEMENT"

We explored the benefits of using worm tea ( excreta of worms also known as worm casts, worm castings or vermicast) and we also proved that worm tea could be a  cheap and easy-to-make substitute to chemical fertilizers! and obviously we also discussed about the disadvantages of using chemical fertilizers!
